Due to its corrosion resistance to water, gas and high temperature environments, it has mechanical properties at all temperatures and occasionally other special physical properties. It is widely used in system engineering such as pipelines, drinking water and wastewater treatment, seawater desalination and salt water treatment. Types 304 and 316 stainless steel are commonly used standard materials of construction. However, as the chloride content increases, higher alloyed stainless steels are used, such as type 2205 and super austenitic and super duplex stainless steels.
