405 is the one with the lowest Cr content among ferritic stainless steels. It has good plasticity, toughness and cold formability, and is superior to other ferritic stainless steels with higher Cr content. When the C content in 405 steel is controlled to be very low, its plasticity, especially toughness, and cold formability will be significantly improved. It is mainly used in the manufacture of parts and equipment linings resistant to water vapor and hot sulfur-containing petroleum corrosion. Such as steam turbine blades, structural frames, stainless equipment, linings, bolts, nuts, etc.
